# Changelog

What changed in DesignAround, newest first. `designaround --version` shows the version on your computer.

## Website · 30 October 2026

- Four [guides](https://designaround.elidot.com/guides/) in English and [Chinese](https://designaround.elidot.com/zh/guides/): checking a product for design patents, Amazon design-patent complaints, designing around a design patent, and drawing requirements in the US, China and the EU.
- The home page lists every feature and answers common questions. The [Chinese page](https://designaround.elidot.com/zh/) now describes the whole product, and the [pricing page](https://designaround.elidot.com/pricing/#design-around) lists the design-around depths and the result guarantee.
- Every page has a Markdown version for AI assistants and agents: add `index.md` to the page address, or request the page with `Accept: text/markdown`. [/llms.txt](https://designaround.elidot.com/llms.txt) lists them, and [/llms-full.txt](https://designaround.elidot.com/llms-full.txt) holds every page in one file.
- Agents can discover the DesignAround Skill at [/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json](https://designaround.elidot.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) (Agent Skills Discovery 0.2.0).
- [robots.txt](https://designaround.elidot.com/robots.txt) welcomes search engines and AI assistants on every public page and states our content signals.

## Service · 30 October 2026

- Installer downloads are served from Cloudflare's cache, so they start closer to you.
- The service is checked every 5 minutes, and the account database is backed up every day, with a second copy on a separate machine.

## Version 0.1.3 · 30 October 2026

Installers for macOS 13.5 or later (Apple silicon and Intel), Windows 10 and 11 (x64) and Linux x64 (.deb and .rpm) are on the [download page](https://designaround.elidot.com/download/); the CLI installs from `https://designaround.elidot.com/simple/`. This log starts with this version. Version 0.1.3 includes:

- Import of STL, OBJ, GLB, PLY and 3MF meshes with automatic repair, alongside STEP, IGES and BREP files and labelled product photos.
- A decision card for each case, and a risk report PDF in Chinese or English.
- Design-around runs at quick, standard or deep depth, each with a credit cap; background runs you can check, follow or stop; notifications when a long run ends.
- The result guarantee: a standard or deep run on our hosted models that ends without a qualified candidate refunds half of the credits it spent.
- Read-only share links with watermarks, expiry after 1 to 30 days, access logs and revocation, and prototype packs for factories.
- Records of filings and official notices, and a deadline calendar with .ics reminders 30, 14, 7 and 1 days ahead.
- Re-screening with a list of what changed, and case monitoring.
- Complaint and lawsuit intake, and a response pack for your attorney.
- Batch screening from a CSV file, which can resume after an interruption.
- An MCP server (stdio) with 7 tools; paid tools need a credit cap.
- The chat workbench in Chinese and English; it follows the system language by default.

## Known limits in 0.1.3

- Chinese design results come with a number and title but without figures. Add the drawings by hand before comparing.
- Monitoring runs while the workbench is open or when you run `designaround monitor run`; there is no schedule on the server.
- Line drawings made from scanned meshes are drafts. A patent practitioner checks them before filing.
- Cases are stored on each computer. There are no shared cases or team roles yet.
- The weights and thresholds behind the risk level have not been calibrated on labelled cases yet. Use it to rank and compare designs, not as a probability.
