Acceptable Use Policy
This policy is issued by Shanghai Qidianyan Technology Co., Ltd. (上海奇点砚科技有限公司) for DesignAround. DesignAround is for checking products against existing design rights and developing designs that are genuinely different. This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Questions: support@elidot.com.
1. Designs and intellectual property
Do not use DesignAround to:
- copy a protected design, or make minimal changes intended to sell a product that an ordinary observer would still see as the protected design;
- apply for design protection for a design you did not create or have no right to file, including competitors' designs or designs found in a screen;
- misstate who designed something, or the human contribution to a design, in a filing, a declaration or the filing package;
- upload or process photos, models or documents that you have no right to use;
- present DesignAround output as a legal opinion, or as the work of a patent attorney or agent who has not reviewed it;
- alter, fabricate or backdate entries in the evidence log, or submit falsified evidence to a patent office, a marketplace or a court.
2. The online services
Do not:
- share, sell or resell API keys, credits or access to the online services, or offer the hosted models as a general-purpose AI service to others;
- create several free accounts, or use automated sign-ups, to obtain extra starter credits or free screens;
- scrape or bulk-download registry data through our screening service beyond your own product work;
- try to get around credit caps, rate limits, review gates or the isolation between the Designer and the observer;
- probe, scan or test the security of our systems without our written permission, or interfere with their operation;
- use the hosted models to produce content that is illegal, harmful, or unrelated to product design work.
3. Reporting
To report misuse or a security problem, email support@elidot.com. Please include enough detail for us to find and reproduce the issue.
4. Enforcement
If an account breaks this policy, we may warn the account holder, revoke API keys, suspend the online services or close the account, depending on how serious the breach is. Where possible we warn first. Credits used in breach of this policy are not refunded.
