Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the billing portal (designaround billing portal, or "Manage subscription" in the workbench); the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Taxes such as VAT or sales tax are calculated at checkout by Creem, our merchant of record.

One-time purchases for any plan. Credits do not expire while your account is active.
What credits are used for
1 credit is worth US$0.01 at the base pack price. The CLI and the Assistant show the cost before a paid step and stop at the credit cap you set.

Design-around runs and the result guarantee
A design-around run proposes candidates, checks each one and scores it with the isolated observer, round after round. Choose the depth; the run never spends more than its cap.

Result guarantee. When a standard or deep run on our hosted models ends without any qualified candidate, half of the credits it actually spent (as recorded by our server) are refunded automatically, once per run, with an account of where it got stuck. Up to 20 refunds and 20,000 credits a month per account. Quick runs are not covered.
Common questions
What if a design-around run finds nothing?
For standard and deep runs on our hosted models, half of the credits the run spent are refunded automatically, with the reasons it got stuck. You can then simplify the requirements, try a deeper run, or take the closest candidate to your attorney.
What do I get after paying?
If you buy from this page, the confirmation page shows your API key once, and the plan or credits are on that key right away. If you already use the CLI, run designaround billing checkout --plan pro so the purchase goes to your existing account.
How do refunds work?
The first payment of a subscription and credit packs can be refunded within 14 days; renewals within 7 days if the renewal's credits are unused. See the refund policy.
Do you file patents for me?
No. DesignAround prepares the drawings and a filing package. A registered patent attorney or agent of your choice reviews and files it, and you pay their fees and the office fees directly to them.
